Black Stars ratings vs Austria - Ayew 6/10, Ati-Zigi 3/10, Partey average

Austria produced a dominant performance to defeat Ghana’s Black Stars 5-1 in a pre-World Cup friendly in Vienna. The hosts took control early and went ahead through a well-taken first-half penalty after a handball by Jonas Adjetey.
Despite showing moments of composure, Ghana struggled to convert their chances, with Prince Kwabena Adu missing key opportunities to level the score. Austria dictated the tempo, winning duels and maintaining pressure throughout the game.
After the break, Austria stepped up their intensity and extended their lead, with Michael Gregoritsch heading home as their attacking play overwhelmed Ghana’s defence.
Although Jordan Ayew managed to pull one back for the Black Stars, the response was short-lived as Austria quickly added another goal in the 90th minute to seal the game.
Ghana found it difficult to build momentum or string passes together, ultimately falling to a well-organised and clinical Austrian side ahead of their next friendly against Germany.
Player Ratings
Goalkeeper
Ati-Zigi – 3/10
Ati-Zigi showed some quality on the day but did not do enough to reduce the number of goals conceded. He made a brilliant save in the first half to deny Austria.
Defenders
Derrick Köhn – 4/10
The Union Berlin left-back, making his first start for the Black Stars, was under pressure and looked tense. He improved in the second half as he settled into the game but lost possession frequently and was unable to deliver an outstanding performance.
Caleb Yirenkyi – 4/10
Caleb showed some promise but lacked drive in the first half. He missed a few chances to influence the game going forward and struggled in the second half, where he failed to contain the Austrian attackers and “gifted” a goal. Overall, an average performance.

Alexander Djiku – 4/10
The most experienced defender on the pitch delivered an average performance. He defended decently at times but failed to command the backline effectively.
Jonas Adjetey – 4/10
Adjetey came under pressure after conceding the penalty with an early foul. He struggled to recover and was unable to deliver a solid performance despite playing 70 minutes.
Midfielders
Thomas Partey – 5/10
Partey delivered an average display in midfield. His partnership with Sibo was decent, but his overall defensive and attacking contributions were limited. A yellow card also restricted his ability to surge forward.

Sibo put in a solid performance, especially defensively. He held his position well, dropped deep when necessary, and helped recover possession. One of the better performers on the night.
Forwards
Prince Kwabena Adu – 3/10
Adu had several clear chances to score but failed to convert. Despite good positioning and promising movement, he could not capitalise and make an impact on the game.
Antoine Semenyo – 4/10
