'She has cursed herself and her kids' - Pastor reacts to Methodist church member calling her priests thieves

Sam Korankye Ankrah, Apostle General of Royalhouse Chapel International, has responded to a viral confrontation between a church member of the Methodist Church and her bishop over tithes, a controversy that has ignited widespread debate on accountability within churches.
A widely circulated video which took centre stage saw a woman publicly challenge her church leader after he referenced Bible scripture, specifically Malachi Chapter 3, which teaches that withholding tithes amounts to robbing God.
In the video, the woman acknowledged that she has the financial capacity to pay tithes but deliberately chooses not to, citing concerns over how church funds are managed. She went further to accuse church leaders of financial misconduct, remarks that drew strong reactions from the congregation and triggered intense discussions online.
Apostle Korankye Ankrah Condemns Remarks
Responding to the development, Apostle Korankye Ankrah described the woman’s conduct as troubling and inappropriate.
“I saw a viral video where a woman confronted her bishop over tithes after Malachi Chapter 3 was quoted,” he said. “The teaching was that anyone who refuses to give what belongs to God is, in effect, robbing Him.”

He expressed particular concern about the public nature of the accusations made against church leadership.
"She admitted she could pay tithe but chose not to because of how the funds are used and then went on to label church leaders as armed robbers. That is a very serious allegation."
Defence of Church Financial Systems
The Apostle General defended the financial structures of many established churches, stressing that systems are often put in place to ensure transparency and accountability.
"There are churches where money does not pass through the hands of bishops. Systems are in place to ensure transparency."
He also highlighted the social impact of church institutions, pointing to initiatives such as scholarship programmes, support for vulnerable groups, and contributions to major health facilities, including Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Koforidua Regional Hospital.

"People should go and see the work being done, the hospital projects, support for senior citizens, and the many lives impacted."
Call for Apology and Accountability
Apostle Korankye Ankrah noted that although reports indicate the woman has apologised, further action is required.
She must go beyond apologising to the bishop and also seek forgiveness from God.
he said, cautioning about the spiritual consequences of such statements.
The incident has intensified public discourse around financial transparency, leadership accountability, and the role of tithing in modern Christianity, particularly within Ghana’s religious landscape.
