Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings elected 2nd Vice President of Pan-African Parliament

The Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has been elected Second Vice President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), marking a major milestone for Ghana’s representation and advancing female leadership within the African Union system.
She secured a commanding victory in the election, polling 131 votes against 51, underscoring strong backing from lawmakers across the continent.

Strengthening Ghana’s Role in African Governance
The Pan-African Parliament, an organ of the African Union, serves as a platform for promoting regional integration, democratic governance, and cooperation among member states. It also provides advisory input on critical policy issues affecting Africa.
Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings’ election is expected to significantly enhance Ghana’s voice in continental legislative affairs, particularly at a time when African institutions are intensifying efforts toward deeper integration and stronger democratic systems.
