The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned power outages affecting communities in the Eastern, Volta, Ashanti, Accra West, Accra East, and Tema regions, running from Monday, June 8, to Sunday, June 14, 2025.

In separate notices issued by the power distributor, ECG attributed the outages to emergency maintenance works, scheduled maintenance exercises, and ongoing technical challenges in a number of the affected communities.

The company stated that the exercises form part of broader efforts to improve service delivery and strengthen the reliability of electricity supply across the affected areas.

Depending on the location, outages are expected to run within various time windows—including 9:00am to 3:00pm, 10:00am to 4:00pm, and 9:00am to 5:00pm, among other designated time frames.

ECG assured customers that engineers are already deployed and working to resolve the faults and restore supply as promptly as possible. The company added that electricity will be reinstated immediately after the maintenance works and technical issues are addressed.
