Head Pastor of the Emmanuel Army Church, Emmanuel Appiah,, popularly known as Appiah Biblical, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on charges of offensive conduct likely to breach the peace and the publication of false news.

Appiah, founder of the church, is accused of making abusive and inflammatory comments about Dr Isaac Owusu Bempah, General Overseer of the Glorious Word Power Ministries, through multiple social media channels.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The court granted him bail in the sum of GH₵100,000, with three sureties, following his application. Prosecutors were also instructed to file and serve all disclosures on the accused. The matter has been adjourned to December 30, 2025.

According to the prosecution, the case stems from a viral video circulated on September 4, 2025, in which Appiah allegedly made comments designed to incite fear and provoke public disorder. The video, shared widely on platforms including YouTube, contained several allegations and remarks directed at Rev. Owusu Bempah.

A formal complaint was filed with the police, leading to the pastor’s arrest. The prosecution added that forensic copies of the audio and video recordings were secured and subsequently transcribed into written form with support from the Ghana Institute of Languages.
