Haruna Iddrisu, Adams Sukparu in stable condition after road accident
The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, and the Deputy Minister for Communications and Digital Technology, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu, are in stable condition following a road traffic accident on the Bolgatanga–Tumu road early Thursday, February 12.
The accident occurred while the ministers and their convoys were en route to the Upper West Region to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations of Tumu College of Education and Jahan College of Education.

According to officials, all members of the convoy are receiving medical attention, and there are no life-threatening injuries. Authorities have confirmed that the ministers and their teams are stable.
The Office of the Education Minister expressed gratitude to emergency responders, healthcare professionals, and members of the public for their swift assistance. A statement from the office read:
“The ministers and their respective teams were en route to official engagements when the incident occurred. All members of the convoy are currently in stable condition and receiving the necessary medical attention. We appreciate the prompt response and concern shown by emergency services and the public. Further updates will be provided as necessary.”
The incident has prompted heightened attention to road safety in the region, with officials urging motorists to exercise caution, especially during early morning travel.
