The final funeral rites of Ghana’s iconic highlife musician Daddy Lumba, born Charles Kojo Fosu, have been officially scheduled for December 6, 2025, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
According to DL FM, the grand ceremony will be a national celebration of the late legend’s extraordinary musical legacy, attracting thousands of fans, dignitaries, and fellow artists from across Ghana and beyond.

Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra after a short illness. He was 60 years old.
Earlier, on August 30, 2025, a solemn one-week memorial service was held at Independence Square in Accra, drawing massive crowds who came to honour the life and achievements of one of Ghana’s most influential music icons.
The emotional ceremony united people from all walks of life—including politicians, industry leaders, and fans—who gathered to pay their final respects. Prominent personalities such as former President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong were in attendance, adding a political presence to the moving event.

The memorial was filled with live renditions of Daddy Lumba’s timeless hits, echoing the unmatched impact of a man whose music defined generations and transformed Ghana’s highlife sound.
