Cristiano Ronaldo made an emphatic return from injury, scoring twice to inspire Al-Nassr FC to a convincing 5-2 victory over Al-Najma SC and extend their lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League to six points.

Marking his 100th appearance in the competition, Ronaldo struck twice in the second half to ensure Al-Nassr pulled clear of closest challengers Al-Hilal FC, who are set to face Al-Taawoun FC next.

Despite dominating much of the first half, Al-Nassr were caught off guard just before the break. Felippe Cardoso showcased strength and skill on the counterattack before setting up Rakan Al Tulayhi, who fired home from the edge of the box in the 44th minute.

However, the hosts responded swiftly. Abdullah Al Hamddan restored parity after Abdulelah Al Amri flicked on Marcelo Brozović’s cross, before Sadio Mané produced a moment of brilliance—dribbling past three defenders and finishing superbly in first-half stoppage time to give Al-Nassr the lead.

The visitors hit back early in the second half, with Cardoso curling home from a cutback by David Tijanič to make it 2-2. But Ronaldo soon restored Al-Nassr’s advantage from the penalty spot after Abdullah Al Hawsawi was penalised for handball.

The Portuguese star then added his second in the 73rd minute, calmly finishing after controlling a low cross from Nawaf Bu Washl. Although initially ruled out for offside, VAR overturned the decision to confirm Al-Nassr’s fourth goal.

Mané sealed the victory deep into stoppage time, tapping in his second of the night from Salem Al Najdi’s delivery, capping off a dominant performance for the league leaders.

Elsewhere, Al-Ittihad FC secured a narrow 1-0 win over Al-Hazem FC despite being reduced to ten men.

Abdulrahman Al Oboud netted the decisive goal in the second half, while Moussa Diaby was sent off in the 34th minute.
