Three exciting new faces—Prince Kwabena Adu of the Czech Republic, Medeama SC’s Kelvin Nkrumah, and CF Montreal’s Prince Osei Owusu—have been drafted into the Black Stars squad for this week’s international friendlies against Japan and South Korea.

Prince Kwabena Adu, formerly of Bechem United, has impressed with his consistency in the Czech Republic, earning him a chance to compete for a spot in Ghana’s national team.

Prince Osei Owusu, currently with CF Montreal, joins with valuable international experience. The German-born forward scored nine goals in 31 games over two seasons with Toronto FC and is a product of the VfB Stuttgart academy.

His career includes stints at TSG Hoffenheim, Arminia Bielefeld, and a loan spell at TSV 1860 Munich, where he tallied eight goals and six assists. Owusu has been closely monitored by the Black Stars’ technical team due to his consistent performances.

Meanwhile, Kelvin Nkrumah has been a revelation in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, propelling Medeama SC to second place with his dazzling form.

Black Stars coach Otto Addo will lead his first training session in Nagoya on Wednesday ahead of the 2025 Kirin Cup clash against Japan on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Top Stars Missing

Alexander Djiku, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Fatawu Issahaku, Joseph Paintsil, and Mohammed Kudus have all withdrawn from the squad due to recent injuries or knocks.

While initially named in the team, they will remain with their clubs to rest and recover, following agreements with the Black Stars’ management and medical staff.

The clubs have opted not to risk their players’ fitness by allowing them to travel for assessment by the national team doctors.
