Manchester United completed an impressive double over two Premier League title contenders by coming from behind to defeat Arsenal 3–2, handing the Gunners their first home league loss of the season at the Emirates Stadium.

Fresh from a morale-boosting victory over Manchester City, United faced arguably the league’s most in-form side and were immediately put under pressure.

Arsenal dominated the early exchanges, though clear chances were limited.

Leandro Trossard fired off target, while Martín Zubimendi came close with a well-directed header from Declan Rice’s cross, only to be denied by an excellent save from Senne Lammens.

The breakthrough eventually arrived in fortunate fashion for the hosts.

Patrick Dorgu’s partial clearance fell kindly to Martin Ødegaard, whose effort deflected off Lisandro Martínez and into the net. Despite Arsenal’s control, a costly mistake allowed United back into the contest.

Zubimendi’s misplaced pass sent Bryan Mbeumo clean through, and the forward calmly rounded David Raya before finishing into an empty goal to level the score.

United carried that momentum into the second half and struck decisively six minutes after the restart.

Deployed in an advanced wide role, Dorgu justified his selection by unleashing a powerful long-range strike that crashed in off the underside of the crossbar following neat interplay with Bruno Fernandes.

The goal stunned the Emirates and prompted Mikel Arteta to make four substitutions in quick succession, though Arsenal struggled to regain their rhythm.

Michael Carrick’s side appeared comfortable as the match entered its closing stages, but a lapse in concentration reignited the contest.

Bukayo Saka’s inswinging corner caused chaos in the area, and Mikel Merino reacted quickest to turn the ball home from close range, setting up a tense finish.

Any hopes of a late Arsenal comeback were swiftly extinguished.

United responded almost immediately when Matheus Cunha curled a superb effort from outside the box beyond Raya, sealing a memorable 3–2 victory.

The result marked United’s first league win at the Emirates since 2017 and brought an end to Arsenal’s 17-game unbeaten home run in emphatic fashion.
