Cristiano Ronaldo wins Saudi Pro League title with Al Nassr after 5 years

Cristiano Ronaldo ended his five-year wait for a major trophy after scoring twice to help Al Nassr secure the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League title with a dominant 4-1 victory over Damac on Thursday night.

The Portuguese superstar played a decisive role as Al Nassr finished two points ahead of rivals Al Hilal to clinch their first league crown since 2019.

Former Liverpool forward Sadio Mané opened the scoring in the first half with a powerful header before Kingsley Coman doubled the advantage shortly after the break with a clinical finish.

Damac briefly threatened a comeback after Morlaye Sylla converted from the penalty spot, but Ronaldo responded in style to put the game beyond doubt.

The veteran forward produced a stunning free-kick from a tight angle before adding his second goal late in the match with a close-range finish to complete the 4-1 victory and spark celebrations among Al Nassr supporters.

The result also helped Ronaldo end a lengthy trophy drought at club level. Since joining Al Nassr in January 2023, his only previous silverware had been the Arab Club Champions Cup, a competition not officially recognised by FIFA.

Ronaldo’s last major club trophy before Thursday’s triumph came with Juventus in 2021 when he won the Coppa Italia.

The title victory also marked a strong response from Al Nassr after their recent AFC Champions League final defeat to Gamba Osaka, with Jorge Jesus’ side holding their nerve on the final day of the season to secure the championship.
