NPP support drops to 25% as NDC hits 46% — Global InfoAnalytics poll reveals

Pollster Mussa Dankwah has reported a notable shift in Ghana’s political landscape, indicating a decline in support for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and a corresponding surge for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), based on ongoing tracking polls for March 2026.
In a Facebook post, he said, "Ongoing face-to-face tracking polls for March 2026 show NPP continues to decline in party affiliations.”
Mr Dankwah explained that ahead of the 2024 general elections, the NPP maintained a narrow advantage in party identification.
“Prior to the 2024 elections, NPP was 37% and NDC, 33%,” he said.

However, the most recent figures suggest a significant realignment among voters.
"Currently, only 25% of voters openly associate themselves with NPP compared to 46% for the NDC,” he stated.
He further highlighted that the disparity is more pronounced in critical swing regions such as Greater Accra Region, Central Region, and Western Region.
“The situation is even worse in the swing regions (Greater Accra, Central, and Western) where only 22% say they are NPP compared to 58% for the NDC,” he said.

According to Mr Dankwah, recent political developments may be influencing the trend.
“In the aftermath of NPP primaries, the cocoa price brouhaha, etc., the political environment still appears hostile for the opposition party,” he added.
The findings highlight mounting challenges for the NPP as it works to regain momentum following the 2024 elections, particularly in swing regions that have historically played a decisive role in shaping elections.
