The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a schedule of planned power outages that will affect several communities in the Ashanti Region, Accra West, Accra East, and Tema between Monday, June 1, and Sunday, June 7, 2026.

According to the power distributor, the temporary interruptions in electricity supply are necessary to facilitate emergency maintenance works, planned network upgrades, and the resolution of ongoing technical challenges in some affected areas.

ECG explained that the maintenance exercise forms part of its broader efforts to improve service delivery, strengthen the power distribution network, and ensure a more reliable electricity supply for customers across the country.

The company indicated that maintenance activities in the affected communities will take place during scheduled periods, with some areas experiencing outages between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., while others will be affected from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

ECG assured customers that technical teams and engineers have already been deployed to carry out the necessary repairs and maintenance works, adding that every effort will be made to restore power as quickly as possible upon completion of the exercise.

The announcement comes amid growing concerns over intermittent power disruptions reported in several parts of the country recently, affecting households, businesses, and commercial activities.
